March 6: Midterm review

March 5, 2012

For class today: Arrive with 10 questions AND answers that you think would be appropriate for the midterm. Your questions must be on one page and the answers must be on another page. You *must* put the corresponding page number for the correct answer. Print your pages & bring them to class.

Some guidelines:

  • Have 9 questions that are multiple choice, matching, fill-in-the-blank or true/false. Aim for a mix of question types.
  • Have 1 question that is a short-answer type.
  • Questions can be from any chapter/presentation we have covered so far this semester.
  • You also can post your Q&A materials to your blog for others to use as they study for the midterm. If you plan to use other people’s materials as you study, please post your own.

Also: someone from the Reinert Teaching Center is coming to class to conduct a focus group on your impressions of the class so far. Names will be kept confidential.

Thursday’s class: Midterm! The exam is open note, open book but you cannot use your laptop or other electronic devices. Print out your notes, etc. and bring them with you. The exam will begin at 9:30 a.m. and end at 10:45 a.m.

Office hours this week: My office hours this week will be 10:45 a.m.-12:15 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday, and by appointment.
